One attempt led to a lifelong friendship

Tanzania is a leading economic development country in East Africa. Its largest city, Dar es Salaam, is the country’s largest economic and cultural center, an important port in East Africa, and the location of our customers. It has been 60 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Tanzania. The China-Africa Cooperation Forum held from September 4 to September 6, 2024, promoted the friendly cooperation between China and Africa and attracted a large number of African business people to go to China to expand their business.

Our client is a very powerful local entrepreneur in Tanzania. When he first contacted us, we only knew that he was in the oil business, had a mine and a mining license, but had never been involved in a crushing project before. He is new to the mining industry and now need a set of stone crushing equipment with an output of 150 tons per hour.

4 problems faced by customers:

  1. The customer had no experience in crushing projects before.
  2. The customer’s stone is very hard, so he has higher requirements for the durability of the crusher.
  3. The customer needs equipment with an hourly output of 150 tons, but he doesn’t know whether it is fixed or mobile.
  4. Freight costs are high. Due to the conflict in the Red Sea, all ships from Africa and Europe have to detour through southern Africa, and ships at East African ports need to queue up to enter the port, which increases transportation costs and leads to higher freight rates.

How we solved it:

  1. The client had never done a mining project before. As a professional manufacturer with rich experience, I collected some customer cases of my Tanzanian clients and analyzed them from the aspects of production line infrastructure, market conditions of crushed stone, equipment production costs and profit. Through continuous communication, the client understood the market situation.
  2. The hardness of the stone is high, this problem is the simplest for us. When the stone is very hard, choosing jaw crusher + cone crusher is the best choice. They are strong and durable, and the wearing parts need to be replaced for a long time.
  3. The customer didn’t know the difference between mobile and fixed types. Since the customer has a quarry in the local area, we know that the customer’s construction site is large and fixed. In order to help the customer save investment costs and facilitate the customer’s use, we recommended a 150-ton per hour production line to the customer. The crusher equipment includes jaw crusher + cone crusher + vibrating screen.

Due to the increase in freight costs caused by the Red Sea conflict, we have made the following adjustments to the payment method. The previous payment method was: the deposit was 30% of the full amount. After the adjustment, the deposit is 30% of the machine price, and the freight price will be negotiated at the time of shipment. This greatly helps customers save freight costs.

On August 16, 2024, the customer visited our factory. After meeting and negotiating, they finally decided on a 150-ton-per-hour production line, a jaw crusher and a cone crusher, and a fixed production line.

Working Process:

Raw materials → GZD 1100×4200 vibrating feeder → PE 600×900 jaw crusher → CS 160 Cone crusher → 4 YZS1860 vibrating screens → The final product

The crushed stone/sand larger than the required size is returned to CS160 via belt conveyor to crush again

Recommend:

  1. Vibrating feeder GZD1100*4200 (flat plate type) :Heavy-duty plate feeder is a continuous feeding machine, suitable for short-distance conveying of bulk materials with a feeding particle size of less than 650 mm . The customer’s raw materials are transported to the primary crusher 600*900 jaw crusher through the feeder for primary crushing.

  2. PE600*900 jaw crusher: The production capacity required by the customer is 150TPH, and the raw material is high-hardness stone. Therefore, the PE600*900 jaw crusher (with stronger crushing capacity and more stable use) is selected to crush the 480mm raw material to obtain gravel below 100mm. Because the finished product size required by the customer is 0-30mm, the size larger than this requirement will enter the CS160 cone crusher for secondary crushing.图片6
  3.  CS160 Cone Crusher : Secondary crusher, to crush the stones after the jaw crusher, we recommend the spring cone crusher to customers. Compared with the hydraulic cone crusher, it is cheaper and easier to repair. After training, the customer’s engineers can easily complete the replacement and maintenance of parts, which is very important in African area. Raw materials larger than the finished product size are crushed for the second time to meet the customer’s finished product requirements.

     YZS1860 vibrating screen: Gravel that meets customer needs is screened out and transported to the finished products, through the conveyor belt. Gravel that does not meet customer needs can be screened out through the conveyor belt and transported to the cone crusher for secondary crushing. The screening capacity is stronger and the use is more stable.

More importantly, they have all the equipments I need to purchase in stock, and I can directly see the quality of the equipment. Everything can be ready and shipped within 10 days.

In addition, I saw a batch of equipment was being produced in the workshop. Angelina told me that this batch was supposed to be sent to Tanzania. She showed me the purchase contract of WELLINE’s distributor in Tanzania. This strengthened my trust in WELLINE.

When I came out of the factory, I saw amusement equipment placed in their yard for employees to relax and entertain. I sat on it and experienced the Chinese way of entertainment. It was really cool!

After visiting the factory, we went to the office to discuss the specific details. As soon as we came in, we saw washed fruits on the table and felt the cool air-conditioning, which immediately eliminated the stuffiness and irritability of the summer. During the chat, WELLINE patiently answered various technical questions for me, selected project plans for me, and took the trouble to provide me with a 150-ton mobile crushing station, a 150-ton fixed production line and a 150-ton sand making line. The plan showed me their professionalism in all aspects. Their attentiveness and patience made me feel that they were truly thinking about problems from the perspective of customers, which is the biggest difference from other factory sales.

Although my purchasing manager has visited other factories in China and reported to me, I am more concerned about whether the factory is professional and whether it has experience in international trade. During the chat, I learned that a member of our country had also purchased equipment from WELLINE, and WELLINE has many dealers in Tanzania. WELLINE has a market in our local area. Having dealers means that they are not novices, and the quality must be very stable. No dealer will be willing to cooperate with a factory with poor quality. Their equipment is exported to many countries in Africa and even the world. This made me feel WELLINE’s professionalism, proficiency in international trade and guaranteed machine quality. I suddenly made up my mind to buy equipment from WELLINE, sign the contract, and prepare to place an order.

Because the schedule was rather rushed, we only stayed at WELLINE for 2 hours, but we got along very well and spent 2 hours of happy time. When we left, we took a group photo hand in hand. Finally, Angelina sent us to our next destination and agreed that she would take us to eat more Chinese food and experience Chinese traditional culture next time we come to China. It was a pleasant and happy business negotiation experience. I love China!
